William Walter Kurth, 64, of Great Falls, passed away from bone marrow cancer peacefully in his bed at Benefis Hospital on Saturday, January 14, 2017. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.William was born on July 24, 1952 to Richard and Judith in Fort Benton, Montana. He attended schools in Fort Benton and graduated from Fort Benton High School in 1972. He was drafted into the Army and served two years and was stationed in Panama. After discharging from the Army, William returned home to work at the family farm Kurth Ranch. He was not your typical cowboy, he rode a motorcycle instead of a horse. At the farm he worked the crops, especially winter wheat and barley. William met and married Lissa Swanson in 1982. They had three children together, Jesse, Branden and Jasmin. They later divorced. He left the ranch in 1988 and moved to Great Falls. William started his own lawn care business BK Enterprises to carry on his passion of agriculture.He truly touched the hearts of so many, he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. He rises with the sun every day from now until forever. We love you Dad!William is survived by his children, Jesse Kurth, Branden Kurth, and Jasmin Kurth Humerick; siblings Douglas Kurth and Cindy Halley; and 10 grandchildren.
