Wallace "Wally" Loren Martin

March 31, 1951 — March 28, 2020

Wallace “Wally” L. Martin, 68, of Great Falls and formerly of Choteau, died on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Missouri River Manor, three days prior to his 69th birthday. To his family and friends he was known as “Tag.” This was a name he got by always tagging along with his brother. Wally was born on March 31, 1951, in Great Falls, to Lloyd and Alice (Luinstra) Martin. He was the younger of two children. He grew up and attended schools in Choteau, MT. He joined the USAF and was medically discharged. He attended the University of Montana, Missoula and also the Art Institute of Denver, CO. He loved to paint and do charcoal sketches until his disability no longer allowed him to do so. He never married, but loved his nieces, nephews, great-niece, and great-nephews. He was proud of all of them. He was an avid collector of anything Disney, Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, and DC Universe. Wally is survived by his brother, Mitch (Val) Martin of Great Falls; nieces and nephews, Angie (Bob) Fletcher, Dan Martin, and Dennis (Susan Lewis) Martin, all of Great Falls and Cathi (Kevin) Cline of Bessemer, PA; great-nephews, Eric Fletcher, Shawn and Brian Cline, and Taylor Martin; and great-niece, Alicia Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Peace Lutheran Church with a burial of ashes at 3:00 p.m. at Choteau Cemetery, also on Friday. Our family thanks Missouri River Manor staff for all of your kindness and care of Wally, “Tag,” while he was a resident there. Memorials in Wally’s name may be made to the Missouri River Manor Auxiliary.
