Thomas Ray Brady, 93, formerly of Stanford, residing in Great Falls, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Goldstone Care Facility.A vigil service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Great Falls. The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Stanford. Burial with military honors by the Stanford American Legion Post #53 will follow at Stanford Cemetery.Ray was born August 26, 1922 in Stanberry, Missouri to Thomas and Clara Brady. He graduated from Stanberry High School in 1940. He enlisted in the US Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific. Following his discharge, he returned to Missouri. Then with his brother Bill, Ray traveled to Montana with a harvest crew and decided to remain in Montana. He began working for International Harvester in Denton, and in 1949 moved to Stanford where he was the owner of the International Harvester dealership. International Harvester closed the dealership in 1975, and Ray began his 35 year career with Farmers Insurance on Main Street in Stanford.In 1948, he was united in marriage to June Jeffrey at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Denton.Ray was active in boards and organizations in Stanford and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the Stanford American Legion Post #53, Toastmasters and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Stanford before moving to Great Falls and joining Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Ray had enjoyed great times with his family at their cabin in the Little Belt Mountains.He is survived by his children, Tom (Tess) Brady of Stanford, Mary Lou (Larry) Adams of Havre, Jim (Gail) Brady of Bozeman, Eileen (Martin) Huffman of Lyle, WA, Leo (Lisa) Brady of Fairfield, Steve Brady of Portland, OR, Dan (Leslie) Brady of Great Falls; sister Betty (Bob) Baker of St. Charles, MO; 12 grandchildren, Angela (Scott) Gregorich of Seattle, Addie Adams of Dillon, Colin Brady of Bozeman, Dane (Kirsten) Brady of Highwood, Tami (Kyle) Bretz of DuPont, WA, Brady (Megan) Huffman of Fort Collins, CO, Dillon Huffman of Lyle, WA, Darbi (Sean) Courtney of Helena, Trace Brady of Bozeman, Bailey (Jess) Stenzel of Butte, Keaton Brady of Helena, Camryn Brady of Great Falls; and eight great-grandchildren, Kiana, Jack, Owen, and Luke Gregorich, Matthew Brady, Parker Stenzel, Emersyn Courtney, and Paisley Huffman.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife June; daughter Betty Mae Brady; son Jack Brady; three brothers, Bill, Gene, and Kenneth Brady; sister Mary Jacoby; and two granddaughters Sara Huffman and Ellie Cait Brady.Memorials are suggested to the Stanford Beautification Program, Stanford, MT 59479 or Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
