Richard "Rick" Reynolds

Dr. Richard Alan Doc Reynolds, 68, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017.Rick was born on July 13, 1949 in Sheridan, MT to Lester Charlton Reynolds and Margaret (McCoy) Reynolds. He graduated from Twin Bridges High School in Twin Bridges, MT in 1967 and went on to graduate from Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, MT in 1969 with an Associate of Arts Degree. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in October of 1972 with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree.He married Linda Margaret LeVake on September 2, 1972 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport, IA and was divorced on December 14, 1983 in Fort Benton. The marriage was annulled by the Roman Catholic Church on July 21, 1988. Having no children, Rick and Linda still maintained an abiding friendship until her death in 2007.Rick was involved in the Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts (Eagle rank and God and Country award), 4-H in his youth and later the College of Great Falls Chapel music ministry (he could play any instrument and loved to sing), Cursillos in Christianity movement, Great Falls Genealogy Society, St. Lukes Catholic Church Parish and music ministry, and the Montana Chiropractic Association. He helped with Alcoholics Anonymous and drug abuse/prevention programs, the Metropolitan Community Church (Montana founding member), as well as maintaining his chiropractic practice in Great Falls since 1973, and a satellite practice one day a week in Lincoln working out of the Lincoln Lodge Hotel from 1975 until 1990.Rick never met a stranger. From the time he was a small boy he enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life and maintained lifelong relationships with them. He loved to travel and spent time in Europe, South America and Hawaii to name a few, visiting friends and family wherever he went. He was the glue that kept our family together, completing genealogies for both the McCoy/Mountjoy and Reynolds/Shawver families back to the 1500s. His Rite after Christmas, Just before Easter epistles were famous because they filled everyone in on the previous year (give or take several months) of friend and family activities.He is survived by his sister, Peggy (Michael) Tobin of Sunburst; sister-in-law Karen Murray Reynolds of Butte; nieces Michelle (Shaun) Tobin Huck of Spokane, WA and Meghan (Travis) Tobin Barnes of Olivehurst, CA; nephew Jason (Ashley) Reynolds of Las Vegas, NV; great nephews Deven and Jackson Huck, Kasen Barnes and Cain Reynolds; great nieces Ari and Wilder Reynolds; and uncle Alan McCoy; and numerous cousins and friends.Rick was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother Steven Reynolds; grandparents John C. McCoy and Ethel Mountjoy McCoy; and John C. Reynolds and Elizabeth Shawver Reynolds.A memorial going away party service will be Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with burial of ashes at the Murray Memorial Cemetery in Lonepine, MT at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made in Ricks name to Chiropractic Research at Palmer College of Chiropractic, 1000 Brady St, Davenport, IA 52801; the John C.
