Kathy was born June 4, 1966 in Fargo, North Dakota. She spent her first 14 years in Kenmare, North Dakota. The family then moved to Cascade, Montana where she graduated from high school in 1984. Kathy's drive and determination was to provide for her three children, so she continued her education and graduated from college as a Certified Medical Assistant. On September 22, 2001 she married the love of her life, Shawn Mahoney. She had a strong love for the Lord that was carried out through her day-to-day actions. She would start every morning with one cup of coffee and two hours of Bible readings/ study. This carried into her work, inspiring her patients during the day and then she continued to praise the Lord through adoration and devotions in the evenings. Kathy had a kind and gentle spirit, embracing her love for nature. She spent the summers in the great outdoors camping, fishing and searching for rocks to add to her ongoing collection. While at home, she enjoyed spending time in her garden and snoozing with one of the many family pets. She is survived by her husband, Shawn Mahoney; three children, James Lunstad, Katy (Noah) Klementz, and Nicole (Adam) Hale; soon to be granddaughter, Ellie May Hale, all of Great Falls; stepsons Josh (Angele) Christensen of Great Falls, Ryan (Stephanie) Christensen of Sandy, UT; parents Gerald and Alyce Huber of Great Falls; sister Mary (Mike) Gallagher and Karen (Tony) Malisani; brother Michael (Cory) Huber; family friend Daniel Beernink; loving in-laws; nieces; nephews; and a host of long time friends. Kathy's loving spirit will always be remembered in the hearts of all of her many family members and friends.
