Joyce Bowman

Joyce Myree Bowman, 71, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home in Sun River.A memorial service will be held in celebration of her life at Northwest Family Fellowship on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Side dishes and desserts to share are welcome.Joyce was born to Donald and Irene Anderson on September 14, 1944 in Great Falls. She was raised in Sun River Valley and graduated from Simms High School in 1962. She went to college and earned an associates degree in business and later became a licensed insurance agent. She married Howard Jenkins in 1963. The summer of 1975, they moved with their children from Sun River to Great Falls where Joyce pursued a lifelong career as an insurance agent. Joyce worked for several insurance agencies in and around Great Falls.She was a strong, independent, business minded woman and eventually opened her own insurance agency with business partner Lon Bowman. Joyce and Howard divorced and she married Lon Bowman in January 2001.Joyce was full of energy and ambition. Working was her passion, but she also loved fishing, camping, and boating.She is survived by her husband, Lon Bowman; son Mike (Deborah) Jenkins; daughters Amanda (Eric) Doheny, Annette (Roy) Kennedy, and Sabrina (Scott) Adam; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, brothers Earl Anderson of Great Falls and Gary Anderson of Fairfield; and sister Myrna Engelmeier of Simms.She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Irene Anderson; grandsons Michael Keller and Kruz Porter.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mercy Flight, C/O Benefis, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.
