John Wolfe

John William Wolfe, 74, passed away at home with his family at his side on January 2, 2017.John was born January 7, 1942, in Providence, Rhode Island. As a child, he moved to Seekonk, MA. He joined the US Air Force when he was 18. The next 21 years were spent travelling the world. He was stationed in West Germany, where he met his wife of 52 years, Hedda. He also served in Viet Nam; Opheim, MT; Otis AFB, Massachusetts; Upper Heyford AFB, England; Pakistan; Turkey; and finally to Malmstrom, AFB here in Great Falls, MT. He was very proud of his career in the Air Force in Security Police. After his retirement, he chose to stay in Great Falls. He and Hedda moved to Ulm in 1992 to fulfill his dream of farming.John enjoyed wood and metal working, farming, firearms, cooking, innumerable home projects, animal husbandry, FOX News, and his grandchildren. He took pride in his facilities maintenance job and worked for the law firm of Ugrin, Alexander, Zadick, and Higgins, PC for over 27 years.People who knew John delighted in his quick sense of humor. He was always friendly and loved to strike up conversations with almost anyone. We all benefited from his knowledge and wisdom. Many experienced his giving nature as he was always helping those around him. He touched many lives.John is survived by his wife, Hedda; children Kimberly Frank of Billings, MT, and Michael of Bellevue, WA; brother Richard of Ocala, FL; grandchildren Caitlin, Brittany, Ashley, Tyler, and Ryan; daughter-in-law, Andrea; and son-in-law, Darin.He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary and grandson, Bradley.Arrangements are being handled by Schnider Funeral Home. A celebration of Johns life will be planned for later.
