Gary G. Martin, Big G, G Man, 67, of Great Falls, Montana formally of Woodbridge, VA was absent from his body and present with the Lord on November 24, 2016.Gary was born in Roseboro, NC to Foster Martin and Vennie Cooper Martin on April 6, 1949. He grew up in Fayetteville, NC where he graduated from 71st High School, Class of 67. He served in the Marine Corp for 4 years to include a tour in Okinawa, Japan. He then worked for Capitol Police where he wooed his precious wife, Connie. He then went on to work at Giant Food Store and later retired as a grocery clerk. They recently relocated to Montana to live with their daughter and son-in-law. Although he suffered from mental illness for many years, he found hope in the Lord and enjoyed reading the Living Word of God and didnt let little things bother him.He enjoyed clapping and singing along with the Statler Brothers and Gaithers. He also enjoyed pudding cups, watching his favorite NCAA University of North Carolina Tarheels and cheering How about them Cowboys in hopes Dallas would reach another Super Bowl. He had many dogs during his lifetime and he loved each of them: Smokie, Teddy, Alex, Chakita, and Minnie.Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie Rose Martin; only daughter Heather Dawn Gowers of whom he preferred to call HD; beloved son-in-law, James G. Gowers; loving sister, Sherry Martin (Sam) Jones of Franklinville, NC; nieces Kelly and Katie; and nephew Kasey.A viewing will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
