Elma Pauline Ruf, 76, of Great Falls passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Peace Hospice after complications of MS.A memorial service for Elma will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW, 4123 10th Ave S. in Great Falls with a reception to follow.Elma was born December 23, 1940 in Roswell, New Mexico, where she grew up with a brother Joseph, and three sisters, Sue, Bobby and Nancy.In 1960, she married Thomas Fundis and traveled to various military bases with their four daughters. In 1973, they moved to Great Falls, they divorced in 1982. In 1985, she married Philp E. Ruf and made their home in Great Falls where they enjoyed watching, sharing and taking part in their grandchildren play and grow. Elma worked at various financial institutions including IFG Leasing. She stayed very active and one of her many activities was the Multiple Sclerosis Association.She is survived by her sisters; her daughters, Deborah (Victor) Sanchez of Reno, NV, Corinne Cole of Great Falls, Brenda (Mike) Patterson of Great Falls and Angela (Dave) Back of New Castle, WY; stepsons Greg (Laura) Ruf of Portland, OR, Ron (Jacki) Ruf of Kalispell and Pat (Jeni Dodd) Ruf of Great Falls; she was blessed with 15 grandchildren: Andrea and Jaclyn Sanchez, Mark and Ryan Cole, Justin, Casey, Kelsie and Tyson Patterson, Morgan, Calieb and Kendra Back, Peter, April, Jackie and Clark Ruf; and two great grandchildren Kelly Patterson and Macy Fogilo.Elma was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; parents Joseph and Bessie Wilson; and brother Joseph Wilson.In lieu of flowers, donations in Elmas name may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America National Headquarters, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002
