Dave Goettel

David Arthur Goettel, 56, of Great Falls, Montana passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma, Saturday April 1, 2017.Known as Dave to most of his peers, he was born December 30, 1960 here in Great Falls to Bert J. and Betty (Banks) Goettel. He graduated high school in Choteau in 1979 and went on to attend Flathead Junior College in Kalispell, MT becoming a licensed Massage Therapist.David started working hard at an early age at the Hamilton Ranch outside of Choteau. He spent many years in the grocery business working at the IGA store in Choteau and Rosauers in Kalispell. He became a fine salesman and worked for Frito Lay, Northern Beverages and with Northern Directory Publishing where he was Salesman of the Year in 2014.David loved to be near the water in the great outdoors, spending time with his much loved family. He especially liked watching movies at home and binging on TV serials.He is survived by his wife, Rowena; son Miggy and fianc Chazley Hulett; daughter Adelle (Roger) Tumilson of Wenatchee, WA; brother Gary Goettel of Great Falls; sister Barbara Goettel and Barbaras partner Kay Anderson of Spokane, WA; best friends Dough Caudle of Black Eagle, MT; and a large extended family.He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Goettel (1965); brother Steven Goettel (1971); and his mother, Betty Kencke, who passed away February 21 of this year.A funeral liturgy will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at Highland Cemetery.
