Zita (Guza) Loeffler, 89, died unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on June 24, 2013 of natural causes.A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Zita was born January 24, 1924, in Tracy, Montana, to Matthias and Anna (Milot) Guza. She graduated from Centerville High School. After graduation, she worked for the Royal Milling Company in Great Falls. In 1944 she enlisted in the US Navy. Zita served as a WAVE for eight years, achieving the rank of Chief. She married Edward G. Loeffler in Honolulu on November 18, 1951. After Ed retired from the Navyin 1963, they settled in Great Falls with their two daughters.Zita was a life member of the VFW Woman's Auxiliary and attended Our Lady of Lourdes until health issues kept her at home. She was an avid reader, a crossword puzzle lover, and a bingo fanatic until she lost most of her vision. In her later years she enjoyed the poker machines at her favorite casinos.She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Oriet; sister-in-law Mary Guza; and brothers Joe Guza, Rudolf Doc Guza, John Gubba Guza, Lawrence Sport Guza, and Matthew Buck Guza.In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by her sister, Marian Golie; sisters-in-law Edith and Opal Guza; her daughters,Candace andPatricia Loeffler; grand-daughters Bryce and Briana Weinert; grandsons Alexander and Zachary Drew; son-in-law Robert Drew; many nieces and nephews; and that guy in the red car,Michael.The birds and squirrels will miss her.
