Gazella M. Bistodeau, 93, of Great Falls, a licensed hairdresser and cosmetic therapist, died of natural causes on Monday, August 6, 2012 at a local care facility.A funeral liturgy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Black Eagle, MT. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Zella was born January 13, 1919 in Selby, SD. After high school she pursued her licensing degree as a hairdresser at the Aberdeen School of Beauty in Aberdeen, SD. When she graduated she received her license as a hairdresser and cosmetic therapist. She married Ronald Bistodeau in 1941 in Aberdeen, SD. During the war she was a homemaker while her husband was stationed in Orlando, FL where they made their home.When she returned to Aberdeen she was a hairdresser until the family moved to Great Falls. Once in Great Falls she became a self-employed hairdresser and waitress. She was a waitress at the Paris, which later became The Bon. She retired in 1988. She was a hairdresser for OConnor Funeral Home for many decades.She enjoyed baking and cooking, and was an active church member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.Zella is survived by her daughters, Vicki Mathews and her husband Tim of Florence, MT, Maryann Lockhart and her husband Steve of Fairview, TN; sons, Terry Bistodeau and his wife Wendy of Great Falls, MT, Ed Bistodeau of Great Falls; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and close family friend Teri Maurer of Great Falls.She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald, her parents, and three sisters.
