Winston E. Dorr, 88, of Great Falls, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015.A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., all at Schnider Funeral Home. Final viewing will be Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Winston was born March 30, 1927 in Great Falls, Montana to Evariste and Hazel (Buck) Dorr. He was raised in Eden, south of Great Falls. He lived in and around the Great Falls area his entire life. He attended McCumber School, ranched in Eden and later he moved to Great Falls where he was a Teamsters Union member. For many years, he did carpentry work for George and Henry Western, Ambrose Nieson, Richard Newman, and Bert Earl. He became self-employed in 1979.He married Sharon Thompson and they had two sons, Dennis and Rick. They were later divorced. On August 4, 1957 he married Lenora Greenup in Great Falls and they had two sons, David and Darrell.Winston was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed carpentry, keeping track of rain and snow fall, and argued the weather mans forecast when wrong.He is survived by his wife, Lenora of Great Falls; sons Dennis (Ann) Dorr of Kalispell, Rick (Susan) Dorr of Great Falls, David (Kelly) Dorr of Havre, and Darrell (Janine) Dorr of Great Falls; sisters Marceline Howard of Miles City, Laverne Knowles of Great Falls, Dorine (Elden) Rammell of Seeley Lake, and Lila (Frederick Butch) Jones of Neihart; brother Terrill (Fran) Dorr of East New Market, MD; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Winston was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon; and sister Velma.Donations in Winstons name may be made to Great Falls Realtor Flag Project, 401 13th Ave S, Great Falls, MT 59405 or Eagles Manor, 1501 9th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
