William C. Passineau, 83, of Great Falls, a retired banker and US Army veteran, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at a local care facility.Private family services will be held. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.William was born on August 31, 1929 in Wood County, Wisconsin to Raymond and Norma (James) Passineau. He was raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin where he graduated from Lincoln High in 1946. He attended college at Central State Teachers College, now the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. He married Catherine Stephenson in 1952 in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.William was in the US Army from 1946 to 1948 where he served in the Army of Occupation in Germany. He was recalled to active duty in 1950 where he served in Korea until he was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant in December 1951. He was a previous district supervisor for Thorp Finance Co, Thorp, WI. He moved to Great Falls as Executive Vice President of First Montana Finance and he then moved to Fargo, ND as Consumer Loan Manager at Gate City Savings. He retired from Associated Bank in Stevens Point, WI after which he returned to Great Falls.He was a past President of Montana Consumer Finance Association; a member of the Board of Directors Consumer Loan Committee of US League of Savings and Loan Association; a past member of Board of Directors of Wisconsin Manufacturing Housing Association; and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; golfing; and traveling.William is survived by his wife Catherine (Stephenson) Passineau of Great Falls; daughters Renee (Stanley) Kuntz and Lori (Jerry) Kenik both of Great Falls; and three grandchildren, Kyle Kenik, Kelli (Aaron) McKay, and Tyler Kenik.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
