William Bill Vik, 88, of Great Falls, died on January 5, 2014 at a local long term health care facility.A celebration of life luncheon will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave N, on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Bill was born in Chisholm, Minnesota on March 11, 1925 to Ted and Edith (Torgerson) Vik. He moved to Black Eagle when he was 4 years old and later to Great Falls. He served in the Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945, and was stationed in Okinawa. He worked at the Smelter, Great Falls Transfer and the Great Falls City Water Department where he retired in 1984 after 33 years.He married Pauline Corr on April 16, 1950 and they had 63 wonderful years together.Bill enjoyed fishing and boating on Holter Lake where he had a cabin for 29 years.He is survived by his wife Pauline Vik of Great Falls; son Gary (Dayna) Vik of Great Falls; daughter Paula (Kevin) Hruska of Great Falls; brother Archie (Judy) Vik of Billings; sister Margaret Tootsie (Bob) Gardner of Great Falls; grandchildren Ali Vik, Weston Vik, Corey Hruska, Brittany Hruska, and William Harr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
