William "Bill" Mcelliott

Bill McElliott passed away after a short illness on December 1, 2023. He is survived by his brother, Dan; his nephew, Kevin and his niece, Sandra along with a family of close and loving friends who will feel his loss terribly. Bill was born on November 14, 1949, to Patrick and Ethel McElliott. Growing up in Conrad Montana, he made lifetime friendships and stayed in contact with so many throughout the years, never missing a reunion. He graduated from Eastern Montana College in Billings and embarked on a long career in the food brokerage business and later in the cellular phone industry.

He was an avid Montana Grizzly fan who enjoyed going to football games and celebrating at Red’s Bar in Missoula. He cheered for every player and followed the careers of those who advanced to a professional team bragging about their accomplishments as if he knew them personally. Knowing Bill, he probably did!

Bill had a way of engaging people that made them feel heard and important. He brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. Bill had an uncanny memory of everyone he met and always had a story about them to share, whether you wanted him to or not!

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at O’Connor Funeral Home located at 2425 8th Ave N, Great Falls, MT followed by a 3:00 p.m. celebration of his life at the Winemill located at 4300 3rd Ave S.

What will we do without our friend Bill? He would ask you to live your life well. Be the best person you can be and think of him often. Smile. You can plant a tree or a flowering bush or go somewhere that was special to you and him but most importantly, remember him in your mind and in your heart and know you were special to him as well.
