Will R. Hauck, 81, of Great Falls, a retired Department of the Interior employee and a retired Army Reservist passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017.Graveside service with full military honors will be Monday, June 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison in Helena. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Will was born November 5, 1935 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Charles and Della (Ricketts) Hauck. He graduated from high school in War, West Virginia and from West Virginia University with a degree in Forestry. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army Reserve. He served almost seven years on active duty in the Army with assignments in Texas, Germany, Viet Nam and finally retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in Minnesota National Guard in the Army Reserve. He worked for the Virginia Division of Forestry and the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a forester and the Bureau of Land Management as a Resource Specialist in oil and gas.He married Elaine Hinegardner in 1958, and they had two children. The later divorced in 1969. In 1971, he married Betty Canning of St. Louis, Missouri who he met at Fort Sill, Oklahoma while attending Artillery Officers Advance Course. They served together on numerous Army Reserve assignments, meeting and making many friends.Will is survived by his wife, Betty of Great Falls; children Thomas K. Hauck of Richmond, VA and Lise Parks; grandchildren Wren White, Ariel and Nicholas Parks; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Hallie, and Natalie Medlock; and sister Rhoda Tandy of Winchester, VA.Memorials in Wills name are suggested to the American Red Cross.
