Virginia Olson Dunsworth, 96, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Peace Hospice.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home handling arrangements.Virginia was born on April 11, 1919 in Strool, Perkins County, South Dakota to Clifford and Sadie Lennerville. She graduated on May 26, 1938 from Sorum High School, Sorum, South Dakota. She married Chester Charles Check Olson on November 24, 1939 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Check passed away in January 1961. After Check passed away she went to work at East Junior High School in Great Falls in the cafeteria and made lifelong friends with her co-workers. She then entered and graduated from Beauty College in Great Falls and was offered a job to help run the school and be the receptionist by the owner Ovie Woverton, which she did for several years.She married Earl F. Dunsworth in Couer dAlene, Idaho on December 19, 1964. Virginia and Earl bought and ran the Half-Way House Bar and Post Office in Essex. When they decided to retire they sold the Half-Way House and moved to Hamilton where they spent their summers. They spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona where they bought a winter home. After Earl passed away on March 30, 1989, Virginia moved back to Great Falls to be near her family and resided there, living independently in her apartment until her death.She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She lived her life with no apologies, no excuses, and on her terms.Virginia is survived by her sons, Lance (Marilyn) Olson of Great Falls and Tad (Terry) Olson of Aptos, CA; sister Nan Baker of Colville, WA; daughter-in-law Rexetta Mueller of Helena; grandchildren Scott (Stacie) Olson, Lisa Voss, and Lance Buck (Stephanie) Olson Jr. all of Great Falls, Erica (Jamal) Conrad and Jenny (Gabe) Devault both of Watsonville, CA, Carey (Seth) Angerer of El Sabranti, CA, Tammy (James) Brown of Dayton, OH, Dale Olson of Tri-Citys, WA, Denise (Ryan) Paschal of Spokane, WA, Natalie (Kevin) Kuehn of Bellevue, NE, Rosalie Baker of Colstrip, Carolyn Blakeley of Aurora, MO, Nancy Carroll of Bladenboro, NC, and Lorna Nottingham of Billings; and numerous great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Check and Earl; middle son Clifford who passed away on May 12, 2001; granddaughter Shontelle Olson who passed away on July 21, 2005; sisters Frances and Allafair; and brothers Charles and Ken.
