Benton, St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School, both in Great Falls. After graduation he joined the Army and served in France. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts at MSU and taught in Boise, Idaho for one year. He worked construction during the summers all over the state of Montana. One summer was spent working in Bannock State Park remodeling the visitor’s center. He moved many buildings, even one with a basement while working for Zion Construction as the foreman until an accident forced him to retire. He even helped to put the little school house at the Great Falls fairgrounds. He received a job at Malmstrom as a civilian contractor in Missile Engineering, retiring from there in 1995. He married Barbara Wilson and they later divorced. He then married Shirley Biggs, the love of his life, in Great Falls in 1970. She had four children that were the joy of his life. They were together for 48 years. Victor loved gardening and all his flowers were “begonias,” no matter what flower they were. He went backpacking, canoeing, and camping in the great outdoors. He was known as the “Tarp Master.” He and Shirley traveled extensively. They would visit family in Tennessee, California, and Nevada. They even traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, and the Panama Canal. During the winter he loved to cross country ski in and around the Great Falls area. He excelled at woodworking. He even built a room size Captain’s Bed. He was a “vic of all trades” and could fix or do anything. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Harold “Butch” (Diane) Biggs and Terry Lynn Biggs all of Great Falls; daughters Pamela Ann (Sue) Biggs-Hargrove of Henderson, NV and Shanna Lee (Col. Charles) Stamm of Fate, TX; grandchildren Ashley (Erik) Hansen and Adam Helm; stepsiblings Emma Jane Dwyer of Great Falls and Verna Nicola of Belt; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Victor was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Vincent, Norman, Edgar, and Leonard Tacke; and sisters, Gertrude Baune and Helen Jakobsen. Memorials in Victor’s name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT59405.
