Vickie Ann "Booher" Gibbs

Vickie Ann “Booher” Gibbs, age 76, passed away at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana on July 26, 2023, due to lung cancer.  Born December 28, 1946, in Marysville, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Susquenita High School in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. She later married Larry Gibbs on August 13. 1966.

A longtime nurse’s aide at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, she went on to work as a pharmacist’s aide and later a casino attendant before retiring. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, and visiting with friends.

Kind and giving in nature, Vickie enjoyed shopping and finding the perfect gift for the people she held dear.  In addition, she knitted and crocheted dishcloths that continued to be used by those who know her to this day. Her sense of humor was apparent up until her final days, as she brought laughter to nurses and caregivers at Benefis Hospital and Peace Hospice. A pet lover, she and Larry had several dogs and a cat, including a Scottish Terrier named Sassy, a name that she later repurposed for the cat companion she had at the time of her passing.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” Booher and Margaret “Peg” Chrissinger, and her husband, Larry. She is survived by her two sons, Kevin and Brandon; Kevin’s son Nicholas; Brandon’s three sons, Emmett, Victor, and Henry; and her sister, Sherry Keys.  She will also be missed by many friends and neighbors who came to know her, including her “sister” Mary Leibrand, whose family adopted Vickie after she and Larry settled in Montana in the 1980s.

A celebration of life service for both Vickie and Larry will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home at 1510 13th Street South in Great Falls. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served.
