Vera Mae (Owen Preda) Nelson

Vera Mae (Owen Preda) Nelson, 94, of Great Falls, MT went to be with her Lord, Jesus on November 9, 2017 at her home after an extended illness. Vera was born April 23, 1923 to Ethel and Elmer Owen of Homerville, Ohio.She was a longtime resident of her beloved N.E. Ohio, moving to Great Falls in 2007 to be closer to family. Vera loved God, her family, her church community, traveling extensively with her husband, Harold, gardening and was an avid Ohio sports fan. OH-IO. Harold and Vera loved entertaining and encouraging their friends and those who were in need with their time and generosity. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Preda; son Brian Adrian Preda; and brothers Carl and Clyde Owen. Vera is survived by her husband, Harold Nelson; sister, Pearl Elliott; daughters Sondra (Scott) Burnett and Beth (David) Clark; grandchildren Bethany (Dom) Humphrey, Abigail (Dan) Burnett, Sara (James) Carpenter, Hannah (Jeremy) Trebas, Noah Clark, Lydia (James) Kennedy, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Clark, Hadassah Clark and Micah Clark; precious great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kaylyn, Aleya, Judah, Isaac, Aidan, Oden, Jacob, Hope, Willow, Kingslee Mae, Chelsea, Indie, Elias, Hudson and Emma; and eight nieces and nephews. The family will be greeting family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Schnider Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vera’s name may be sent to Great Falls Rescue Mission or the Gideons.
