Thomas "Tom" Vine

Thomas Tom Vernon Vine, 84, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015. Graveside services will be announced at a later date.Tom was born March 16, 1930, in Elk River, Idaho. He grew up on the family grain and mink farm and attended schools in Vida and Circle, Montana. Tom joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was married to Delores Tousley and had 2 sons, Jerry and Scott. They were later divorced.Tom moved to Dutton to manage the Peavey grain elevator. He then met his wife of 37 years, Mary Frigge (Van Heel). Tom later worked with Cargill Company in both Chester and Valier. They resided in Dutton until moving to 'The Grandview' in Great Falls, May 2014.Tom was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and belonged to the American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed flying their family Piper airplanes. He will be remembered for his light-hearted joking and laughter.Tom is survived by his wife Mary, son Scott (Heidi), and brother Merle (Ann). He has 5 stepchildren, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Myrtle (Stalheim); son Jerry (Denise) and brother Harold.
