Thomas Spatafore passed away at Peace Hospice on July 13, 2020, at age 79. Thomas was born on August 9, 1940, to Tony and Frieda Spatafore in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Thomas received a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Montana in 1964, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Puget Sound in 1979. He began teaching as a music teacher for 5 years. He had a beautiful singing voice and could play all the band instruments. He then taught for 25 years as an elementary school teacher in Great Falls. Whether it was his dislike of Pepsi products, his love of strawberry and rhubarb pie, or his dad jokes, his humor and love of storytelling will live on in all of us. His family was of greatest importance to him, and he enjoyed traveling and cruising to exotic places together with them during his retirement years. He couldn’t stand to be in one place for too long. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Huntley Spatafore; brother, Geno (Dawn) Spatafore of Anacortes, Washington; son, Todd (Leanne) Spatafore of Los Altos, California; daughters, Tonja (Tom) Cone of Seminole, Florida, and Angela (Todd) Depping of Great Falls; and grandchildren, Inara Spatafore, Trevor and Tyler Cone, and Devon, Meridith, and Cody Depping. His sister, Gloria Spatafore, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Thomas’s name may be given to the Great Falls Public Schools Foundation or a charity of your choice.
