Thomas Krogfoss

Thomas W. Krogfoss, 81, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.Thomas was born to Charles and Thelma (Strand) Krogfoss on June 30, 1934 in Crary, North Dakota where he was raised with ten other siblings. He married his first wife, Opal Catherine Rardon on September 18. 1954 in Devils Lake, ND. The couple eventually moved to Great Falls, MT where they raised four children: Charles, Wendy, Bradley and Cheryl. Thomas married his second wife, Lilly Braun Neumiller in 1984 becoming step-father to her son, Jerome and daughters Pamela, Letha, and Michelle.Tom had several different jobs throughout his life. These included working at the Anaconda Copper Company, a Conoco gas station, Coast to Coast Hardware Store, and as a truck driver for several companies. His greatest career achievement however was starting his own contracting business, Krogfoss Construction where he was able to utilize his greatest talent, carpentry.Thomas enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and boating with his family and friends. He also enjoyed dancing and spending time with his wife, Lilly and their friends at the Senior Center here in Great Falls.He is survived by his son, Charles (Linda) of Magna, UT; daughter Wendy (Owen) Tudor of Great Falls; son Bradley of Great Falls; step-son Jerome (Vickie) Neumiller of Casper, WY; step-daughters Pamela (Brian) Buck and Michelle (Byron) Dille of Great Falls and Letha (Greg Steinwand) of Columbia Falls; grandchildren Joshua and Matthew Krogfoss of Magda, UT, Kemoc, Jeremy, and Kevin Tudor of Great Falls, Joy Tudor Garcia of Harvest, AL and Sean Dumas of Missoula; step-grandchildren Bradley Neumiller and Amanda Parker of Casper, WY, Brooke Linn and Kristen Linn of Portland, OR, Austin Dille of Great Falls, Chris Buck of Missoula and Tristin Steinwand of Columbia Falls; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Nathan of Bozeman and Karl (Jeanette) of Starkweather, ND; sisters Avis Peterson of Chico, CA, Doris (Michael) Bachmeier of Devils Lake, ND and Charlotte Green of Englewood, CO; and brother-in-law Ronald Sager of Wimbledon, ND.Thomas was preceded in death by parents Charles and Thelma; wives Opal and Lilly; daughter Cheryl (Bob) Dumas; step-grandson Adam Dille; brothers Leslie and John; sisters LaVonne McKay, Susan Honeycutt and Myrtle Sager; sister-in-law Hazel Krogfoss; and brothers-in-law Allen Peterson and Allen McKay.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at OConnor Memorial Chapel. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.
