Terry Liggett, 77, founding owner of Liggett Construction of Great Falls, died on Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home.A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Schnider Funeral Homewith a vigil service to followat 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with burial in Highland Cemetery to follow.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Terry was born June 10, 1935 in Fort Peck, Montana to Don and Maryetta Liggett.His family moved when he was young, to Bremerton, WA and then later to Richland, WA, where he attended Columbia High School.Terry attended Gonzaga, where he met the love of his life, Betty Robinson.The two were married June 11, 1955 in Great Falls.Following their marriage, they lived in Richland, where he was a butcher for Kaiser Market.He returned to Great Falls, where he worked for his father-in-law in construction at Robinson Shepherd Construction. He later worked for Tynes Construction and Falls Construction.Terry then started his own business in 1968, Liggett Construction, retiring in 1996, at which time his sons took over the operation of the business.Terry was proud to be an Eagle Scout. He was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church.He enjoyed spending time at Holter Lake and his condo in Hawaii, fishing and hunting, watching whales, and he loved to work.Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.His love and kindness was unlimited, he never met a person he didnt consider to be a friend, and he would give the shirt off of his back to anyone. His gentle, caring heart will be greatly missed by so many.Terry is survived by his wife, Betty Liggett; his children, Dona (Blue) Hughes, Scot (JoAnne) Liggett, Linda (Rich) Sangray, Richard Liggett and Mark (Mary) Liggett, all of Great Falls; ten grandchildren, Terry and Kristie Liggett, Michael, Kris, and Kelly Liggett, Cassie and Trista Sangray, Lexi, Annie and John Hughes; six great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Dan Robinson (Allen Castro) of Hilo, HI and Chuck Boos of Spokane, WA; sister-in-law Peggy (Marvin) Andersen of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hope Caprye-Boos and Loretta Levno; brother-in-law Tom Robinson; and a great grandson, Grayson Liggett.The family suggests memorials to Peoples Park & Rec Foundation for Mansfield Seat Project, 1700 River Dr N, Great Falls, MT 59401, or the Make a Wish Foundation, P.O. Box 52435, Phoenix, AZ 85072-2435.
