Terry Higgins

Major (Ret.) Terry Nolen Higgins, USAF, 69, of Great Falls, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015.A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Terry was born in Jackson, Tennessee to Albert B. Higgins and Helen Futrell Higgins. He spent his youth in Jackson and Malesus and graduated from Jacksons South Side High School. He went on to graduate from Memphis State, now known as University of Memphis in 1968 with a degree in journalism.Terry was in the USAF ROTC in college where he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation. His military career spanned 20 years during which time he was stationed at Malmstrom AFB, MT, Minot AFB, ND, and Vandenberg AFB in CA. Upon retirement he settled in Great Falls. He enjoyed golfing, kayaking, cooking, traveling and being with his children.Terry is survived by children Mark A. Higgins of Kanazawa, Japan and Melanie (August) Rutkowski of Philadelphia, PA; brother Richard L. (Linda) Higgins of Jackson, TN; 3 nieces and nephews; his former wife, Mary Ann Patek, whom they remained close friends until his passing. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Spooky.He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Phillip Dwayne.
