Sylvester Deshner

Sylvester Anthony Deshner, 92, of Great Falls, passed away on January 1, 2016 at his home.No services are planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Sylvester was born on June 28, 1923 to Gotlieb and Elizabeth (Grosman) Deshner in Martin, North Dakota. He married Alice Marie Nichols in Wolf Point, Montana in 1949. She passed away on August 28, 2004. He worked as a liquid petroleum serviceman. Sylvester was a veteran of WWII.He loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed camping, fishing, gambling, smoking cigars and having his little dog, Pablo sitting on his lap.Sylvester is survived by his son, Larry Deshner of Lincoln; step-son Paul Tutor of Missoula; daughters Jane Svezia of Moorhead, MN and Penny Mansfield of Great Falls; sister Everlyn Shaw of Bozeman; 21 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice; daughters Gail McKay and Sherry Hall; son Terry Deshner; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
