Susanne Merlo

Susanne Adele Merlo went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 74 years of age, at her home surrounded by her loving family.Susanne is survived by her husband, Ed; and children Bob and Marcia.She was born on March 27, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her life travels included years spent in Mound, Minnesota, Spokane, Washington, and Missoula, Montana before settling in Great Falls for the last 54 years. She had a long career in the banking business and made many friends from her time working, as well as her time volunteering as a Sunday school and catechist teacher at Faith Lutheran Church where she was a member. However, a long list of career highlights do not compare to Susannes accomplishments as a loving wife, mother, and friend.Susanne had a full and blessed life even when multiple sclerosis confined her to a wheelchair for the last 15 years. She was a loving wife and mother who delighted in serving others, helping friends, and spending days with her family, especially at the racetrack watching her son race his Pro Mod car. She loved everyone selflessly and her kindness was evident in everything she did. Susanne adored her husband and children, who were her greatest gifts. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and everyone whose life she has touched.The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Benefis Peace Hospice, as well as her extraordinary palliative care nurses for their excellent care.A private family inurnment service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children (shrinershospitalforchildren.org).
