Shirley Ann (Heppner) Myers

Shirley Ann (Heppner) Myers, aged 87, passed away of natural causes on December 16, 2023.

Shirley was born on August 31, 1936, in New Deal, MT to John and Ione (Nelson) Heppner. They moved to Plentywood and later to Great Falls where Shirley graduated from Great Falls High School. She was set up on a blind date with Robert Myers and they married in November of 1955. They had their first son, Doug, in 1956. Rob came along in 1961 and Brad in 1962.

Shirley had a great talent for sewing and made many beautiful quilts. Through her love of quilting, she made some very good friends. Before passing away, she donated a portion of her fabric collection to the Linus project, Redeemer Lutheran Church and other organizations. She was a very good cook and collected recipes. Any piece of paper or envelope was fair game to jot a recipe down.

When family visited, she always had delicious food prepared, pinochle cards ready, and games to play with her grandchildren. This brought laughter and family time together at the table. Her great grandchildren, Haizlyn and Colten, were pure joy to Shirley. She was always so happy when her grandchildren would bring them by for a visit. Shirley just wanted to hold and love those babies for as long as she could.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Doug (Mary Lou), Rob, and Brad (Kathy); grandchildren, Chris, Travis, Jake, Stormi, and Maci; great-grandchildren, Haizlyn and Colten; and brother, Dennis (Jean) Heppner. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Donna Linn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Linus Project of Great Falls or Helena. Project Linus gifts handmade blankets to children who are ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Shirley was active in supporting this organization. www.projectlinus.org/donate.php

A celebration of life will be held at The Eagles Club (1501 9th Street S) on January 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
