Shelmerdine "Shellie" Carlson

Shelmerdine Shellie Carlson, 81, of Belt, died of natural causes on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at a local hospital.Visitation will be held on Sunday, June, 9, 2013 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home.A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Belt, MT with a reception to follow at Belt Community Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Shelmerdine was born on August 25, 1931 in Great Falls, Montana to Owen and Helen (Miskan) Phillips.She attended schools in Great Falls and in 1949 graduated from Great Falls High School.Shelmerdine married David Carlson in Great Falls on May 27, 1950.She was a homemaker most of her life.She was a member of the Belt Community Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Belt.She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her seven grandsons, one granddaughter and great-grandchildren.Shelmerdine is survived by her husband, Dave Carlson, of Belt; children David (Karen) Carlson, Karen (Rick) Pepos, all of Sand Coulee, and Scott Carlson of Billings; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Helen Phillips; and brother Owen Phillips, Jr.Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
