Shelley Lighter

Shelley Lighter, 59, of Great Falls, passed away after a brave fight with cancer on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.A celebration of life will be held later in the spring. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Shelley was born on January 25, 1954 in the Dowels, Oregon to Sterling and Ann (Wilkins) Rood. She grew up with two sisters in Chico, CA. Shelley had a son in 1980 and they moved to Great Falls in 1986. She was a caterer in hospitality sales and owner/operator of SAL Designs.Shelley was seen every Saturday at the Farmers Market. She was the president of the MT State Fair Board for many years, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and was very involved in her community.Shelley is survived by her son, Aaron Lighter of Buckeye, AZ; and sisters Stephanie Balcazar of El Paso, TX and Carrie Denney of London, England.She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Ann Rood.
