Serena "Chrystie"' Chrystyne Roberson

Serena “Chrystie” Chrystyne Roberson, age 58, passed away at home on January 25, 2022, after battling ovarian cancer. A celebration of life will be held in her honor on February 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Black Eagle Community Center in Great Falls, MT. Chrystie was born in Minot, ND to Sam and Margie on December 28, 1963. They lived in Cheyenne, Seattle, and Minot while Sam worked for Boeing before finally settling in Great Falls, where she attended public school. She loved acting and singing and was in several plays.Her favorite role was Jambalaya in a play called “Heavens to Betsy.”She also starred in the plays “Airplanes” and “Charlie Russell.”Serena proudly won a Perfect 10 contest the same year her first daughter was born in 1986. After attending some community college, she enrolled in beauty school at Dahls College of Beauty and graduated in 1989 shortly after her second daughter was born. Her first job as a cosmetologist was at Regis Beauty Salon. Chrystie then worked at Your Style, Concept Hair Design, and Trends & Friends. She was also bartending and waitressing at the Amigo Lounge from 1993-1998 with her twins born in 1993.She joined the Montana Air National Guard in 1998, working as a supply technician. In 2000, while she was activated with her unit to aid in fighting wildfires, she met the love of her life, Scott Fleek. Scott and Chrystie had their son Hunter Fleek on December 22, 2003. They were married on April 7, 2004.She graduated from the College of Great Falls with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. She then transferred from the 120th Air Wing to the 219th Redhorse Squadron.Chrystie deployed to Iraq in 2005 for eight months before eventually returning to the 120th AW to work in the Civil Engineering squadron.She medically retired from the military in 2014. In 2016, Chrystie became a foster parent and welcomed their new foster son, Kaighlyn, to the family in 2017. In 2018, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and began seeking alternative treatment. She met some wonderful friends in Mexico and continued to enjoy traveling. She received wonderful treatment from her friend, Dr. Nancy Patterson, and met so many people on similar journeys who made a great deal of impact on her own journey.In 2020, Scott and Chrystie found their forever-home site, and Scott began building their dream home. She loved their new property and was excited to build her own chicken coop. She loved her chickens! She was a force to be reckoned with. She loved her family fiercely and she stood strongly for what she believed in.She never backed down from a fight and kept us laughing to the very end.Chrystie loved her grandkids, karaoke, camping and boating, hiking, politics, gardening, reading, and advocating for health and wellness alternatives.She learned to fly an airplane with her father before she ever learned to drive a car. She learned to drive in a dune buggy, and her first car was a ’65 Chevy. Chrystie loved to travel and enjoyed visiting her daughters, family members, and out of state friends, and taking trips on her motorcycle. Chrystie is survived by her husband, Scott Fleek; her parents, Margie and Greg Johnson; daughters, Brittney (Scott) Smith, Saraya (Anastacio) Navarro, and Madison (Greg Buckner) Eckenstein; her sons, Kaighlyn Quiver-Roberson and Hunter Fleek and sisters, Katie Johnson and Mary (Kerry) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Roberson; sister, Buryl Hunt; and her son, Mckyle Eckenstein.
