Scott Alan Schneckloth

May 24, 1956 — June 10, 2024

Scott “Scotty” Alan Schneckloth passed away peacefully at his home on June 10, 2024, with family by his side, from a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Scott was born on May 24, 1956, to Norman and Patricia Schneckloth in Helena, Montana. He went to Helena High School and graduated with the class of 1975. Scott met the love of his life, Julie, in 1980. A few years after purchasing their home and getting married, they went on to have three children, Calvin, Megan, and Shelby.

Scott was an expert arc welder for many years at ASARCO until 2001. He later became a contract employee for Northside Welding and Fabrication. Scott participated in many triathlons around the State and placed well at the top of his age group. Scott loved doing various projects with his son, Calvin. He and Calvin enjoyed watching wrestling and got to enjoy going to an event to watch their favorite wrestlers. Scotty also loved photography, watching storms and most important to him was his family. Scott always made time for his family and went on bi-weekly lunch dates with his daughter, Megan.

Scotty loved his Harley and had dreamt for many years of the days when he would retire and ride on sunny days with no route to follow. Scotty loved spending time outdoors and with his family. He got to enjoy many family vacations, trips to the ocean, and annual trips to Vegas with his wife, Julie. One of Scotty’s most memorable trips was with his daughter, Shelby and his son-in-law, Aaron, when they went to Seattle to see the Seattle Kraken and explore all of Seattle.

Scott is survived by his wife, Julie; his three children, Calvin, Megan (Adam) and Shelby (Aaron); siblings, Mark (Sarah) and Cathy (Rich); granddaughter, Zoe Maye; and many other family members. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; aunts; and uncles; and other relatives.

Scotty’s most used expression and a wonderful reminder to all, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday July 6, 2024, at the Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds at the “Rustic” building in Helena, MT 59601.
