Sandra "Sandi" Louise Medved

August 18, 1947 — February 19, 2023

Sandra "Sandi" Louise Medved was born in Great Falls, Montana with her twin brother David to George and Edith Strainer on August 18, 1947. She was raised in Black Eagle, Montana. She attended Collins School, St. Mary's, and Great Falls Central Catholic High School. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry Medved, on September 23, 1967, at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Black Eagle, Montana. They were married for over 55 years. Their first child, Lori, was born on December 12, 1970. They also had a son, Timothy, born on February 5, 1973. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and nothing was more important than family.

Sandi worked at the offices of Buttrey Foods for 5 years. She then went on to work for Meadow Lark Elementary School as a teacher's aide and a classroom assistant for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Luke's and later St. Ann's Catholic parishes. She was also a Bluebird and Campfire Girl’s leader.

Sandi enjoyed crocheting Afghan’s for every new member born into the family. For many years Sandi made Christmas ornaments for her many nieces and nephews. Sandi also enjoyed cross-stitching and feeding and watching birds. One of Sandi's favorite memories was spending time with her family and friends at Swan Lake, Montana.

Sandi is survived by her husband, Jerry of Great Falls; daughter, Lori (Robin) Becker of Great Falls; son, Tim; grandchildren, Madison and Colin Medved all of Great Falls; brother, Mike (Juta) Strainer of Seattle, Washington; twin brother, David (Margie) Strainer of Kalispell; brothers-in-law, Bill (Pat) Medved of Great Falls and Pat O'Connell of Great Falls; sister-in-law, Bev Medved of Kalispell, and cousin, Evie Ugrin of Great Falls. Sandi is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews all across the United States.

Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Strainer; her sister, Claudia O’Connell; and her close cousin, Neil Ugrin.

A funeral service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

People may leave donations in Sandi's name to Peace Hospice of Great Falls Montana.
