Sally L. Kommers, 79, of Great Falls, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. The funeral liturgy will be Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Cathedral with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Sally was born on July 7, 1938 to Willis and Thelma (Swaner) Moody in Salt Lake City, UT. After high school she worked at Northwest Airlines in Seattle, WA. She met her husband, Jerry on a weekend trip to Great Falls with her roommate. They married April 27, 1963. Together they raised four children. When their youngest child went to kindergarten, Sally returned to the travel industry as a travel agent working for various travel agencies. As a travel agent she made various trips including, Alaska, China, and East and West Germany. She received an award, “Travel Agent Extraordinaire” for all the work she did for the various bishops and clergy from the diocese. She retired in 2003. She was active in the Catholic Diocese, including playing the organ at St. Joe’s, RCIA, CCD, the Cursillo, and a Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered as pink lady at the Columbus Hospital and helped in the surgical waiting area at Benefis West Campus. Her family had fond memories of all the adventures and perks that were included while she was a travel agent. She was a people person and wherever she went someone always knew her. She always took the time to stop and chat. Sally is survived by her daughters, Deb (Wendell) Chibroski and Carol Kommers both of Great Falls, and Michele Kommers of Lovelock, NV; son Mark (Rose) Kommers of Great Falls; sisters Ann Petersen of Bountiful, UT and Helen Petersen of Layton, UT; sister-in-law Charlene Kommers of Great Falls; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Brianne and Kristin Chibroski and Tyler Bennett; and four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry and her parents Willis and Thelma Moody. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics and the Great Falls Symphony Guild.
