Ruth A. Stroop (Hill), 80, with her family by her side, received her wings Sept. 1, 2017, and joined her family of angels.Ruth was born in Glasgow, Montana to Annette and M.W. Bill Hill. The family moved several times before settling on the west side of Great Falls as she fondly proclaimed the best side of town. In 1956, she married Charles W. Stroop, and together created a loving home, raising 5 children. For 27 years, Ruth helped with the family business, Family Pride Catering. Later, she opened her Bear Hugs shop and espresso shop until her health deemed otherwise.Life was a gift to Ruth and each day she lived, it was always with a smiling face and a positive attitude. Her passions were her family that she was proud of, her faith which kept her going when her health said otherwise, talking to her friends or any one she met, her music she enjoyed and her cellphone that was never out of reach.She's preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; her parents; and brother, Bill Hill. She's survived by her daughter, Tina Loch (Dennis); sons, Chuck Stroop (Tari), John Stroop, Rick Stroop and Tony Stroop (Wendy), all of Great Falls; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Stroop; many nieces and nephews and all her beloved friends and extended family.A celebration of her life is Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 13th St. S. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested gifts be sent to St. Jude's Hospital in her memory.
