Ruth Marie Jensen, 93, of Great Falls, passed away at Peace Hospice on October 29, 2018, in the company of her loving family. Memorial services will be at New Hope Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Avenue South, on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00 PM. Our dear mother, Ruth Jensen, was born on February 24, 1925, on the farm of parents John and Goldie Nelson in Westby, Montana. She graduated from Westby High School. During her high school years, she met Clare Jensen whom she married in Laredo, TX on April 24, 1944, where he was stationed with the Army-Air Corp. They enjoyed 65 years together before Clare’s death on July 17, 2009. During those years, they raised three children: Diane (Bob) Savage, Neal (Pam) Jensen, and Craig (Kaymarie) Jensen. She shared special times with grandchildren Cami (Terry) Jensen, Adam Jensen, Nathan Jensen, Luke (Tracy) Savage, Ryan Savage, Aubrianne (Casey) Kluver, and Karissa (Karstin) O’Neal; and great-grandchildren Mikael, Matthew, Andrew Savage, and Gibson, Everly and Asa Kluver. Ruth also valued the opportunity to “just visit” with her many extended family members, and to have coffee and cookies. Although family was always special, Ruth’s life included many other dimensions – her everlasting faith and membership in New Hope Lutheran Church, her proprietorship of Ruth’s Yarn Shop and the opportunity to share her love of knitting, hardanger and quilting, and her retirement at Brookdale, which was filled with pinochle, puzzles and ice-cream socials. She valued friends that were always there through the joys and sorrows of a life long lived. Memorials may be made to Peace Hospice or New Hope Lutheran Church.
