Ruth Delanoy

Ruth Delanoy, 92, of Great Falls, passed away August 19, 2017.Services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Ruth was born on July 19, 1925 in Shelby, MT to Gus and Ida Bronken. She worked as a cashier at Safeway and Buttrey Food Stores in Shelby until 1951. She moved to Great Falls where she went to work for Buttrey Food Stores as a Courtesy Clerk until her retirement over 30 years later.She married Jack Houston Delanoy, and together they had three sons. Sadly, he passed away 13 days before the birth of their last child. Ruth went on to raise her three sons by herself.Ruth enjoyed bowling in bowling leagues in her early years. She loved NASCAR and drag racing, traveling to Nevada with her friends to gamble, and working outside in her yard and garden. Her weekly visits to her hairdresser were always high on her list of priorities.She is survived by her two sons, Mike (Linda) Delanoy and Pat Delanoy; 4 grandchildren, Jack (Marinell), Seth, Amber (Claude), and Deanne (Cole); 6 great-grandchildren, Dana, Ayana, Tatyana, KLana, Montana, and Aubrey Jo; and ex-daughter-in-law, Helen Fabian.Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; son Darrel; brothers Lyle (Dorothy), Alvin (Virginia), and Arnold Bronken; sister Ruby (Louis) Bronken Payne; and parents Gus and Ida Bronken.
