Russell Calvin Kolste

Russell Calvin Kolste was born April 4, 1933 to Faltin and Lucy Kolste on the Fairfield Bench. He passed away November 9, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairfield, Montana. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Russell graduated from Fairfield High School in 1952 and then took over the family farm. He enjoyed working with a good horse and a good dog. He married Agnes Peterson in 1972. Of this union two children were born, Callie Roselle in 1974 and Gary Richard in 1977. Russ worked hard his whole life. He especially enjoyed the cattle. After moving into Fairfield, Russell had the opportunity to work with ostriches, elk, and camel with Russ Allen. He always enjoyed taking time for a cup of coffee, cookies, and a game of cribbage with family and friends. Russ is survived by his wife, Agnes of 45 years; daughter Callie (Keven) Heinle of Fairfield; sons Gary (Chrissy) Kolste of Valier and Ken (Carla) Seaman of Great Falls and family; four precious grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Don, and Kesler; two brothers, Les (Joyce) Kolste and Paul (Pat) Kolste; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marge Paddock and Tootie Wallace; and son Kellan Seaman. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.SchniderFuneralHome.com.
