Roy Charles Heinen, 85, of Power, passed away on Monday, May 4 2015 of natural causes.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. The vigil service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Power. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior at 9:00 a.m. There will be a reception for family and friends after the service with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Roy was born on January 4, 1930 to Jacob and Catherine (Temple) Heinen in Great Falls. He had an older sister, Maxine Plummer. After graduating high school Roy served in the US Army as a mechanic during the Korean conflict. He returned to Power and worked on the family farm. His other jobs included working for Mountain View Co-Op and Farmers Union Insurance as a crop adjuster. He married Vera Kummerfeldt, together they raised their son and daughter, Mike and Barb and divorced after 14 years of marriage.While driving milk trucks for Meadow Gold Dairy, Roy met the love of his life, Violet K. Mustonen of Hinsdale, Montana. They enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Nevada. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin in Sun River Canyon. After retirement his favorite thing to do was putter around in his shop working on projects with his close friend Joe Widhalm.He is survived by his son, Michael (Jacqueline) Heinen of Great Falls; daughter Barb (Heinen) Johnson of Idaho; stepson Wayne (Denalie) Burnham of Missoula; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.Roy was preceded in death by his wife Violet; parents Jacob and Catherine; and his sister Maxine.
