Ronald E. Turner, 70, of Great Falls, a retired restaurant and bar supply salesman, manager, and US Army veteran, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at a local hospital of pancreatitis.A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Ronald was born December 6, 1942 in Minot, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1961. He then attended the College of Great Falls from 19681969 with a major in business and economics and minor in accounting.Ronaldwas draftedinto the US Army from 1964 until 1966. Following basic and advanced training, he loaded missiles in the Hawk System in Germany.He married Carol Renee Smith on August 24, 1968.Ronald worked summers caddying at Meadowlark Country Club, Montana State Fair, Foss Rest Home and setting pins at Demolay Alley. He worked five years at Safeway through high school. He then worked at ACM several times and then got into commercial equipment sales and repair, which lasted 38 years starting with Houseman & Co from 19691984; worked for Whites Inc. for five years; then Brodie/Dohrmann; started with J&V in 1993; then Advance in 2004, retiring in 2007.He was a member of Moose Lodge and the Eagles, who enjoyed bowling, pool and golfing with old friends.Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol Turner of Great Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Erin Turner of Billings; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Robert McGaugh of Great Falls; his sisters, LaVonne Figarelle of Great Falls, Sharon Fuller of Burbank, IL, and Rita Wright of Missoula; a brother, Ivan Beston of Kalispell; and three grandchildren, Christopher McGaugh, Megan McGaugh, Lauren Turner, and another granddaughter on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Arvid Turner in 1976; his mother, Bernice Turner Beston Houchen in 1981; brothers Jerald Turner in 1987 and Dwayne Turner in 1996.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 3203 3rd Ave N, Ste 203, Billings, MT 59101, or charity of donors choice.
