Ronald Marcus Senger, 73, of Great Falls, a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired business agent for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 103, died on Monday, November 26, 2012 of natural causes at his home.A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Ron was born to Roy and Helen Senger on December 13, 1938 in Rolla, North Dakota. In Rons early years, he lived in the Devils Lake region, moving to Great Falls around the age of 12 years old. Ron served a couple years in the US Navy in his late teens. He began his sheet metal apprenticeship in 1960 and became a journeyman in 1964. He worked in the trade and served as a union official starting in 1977 with Local 246. He was elected business agent of local 103 in October 1978 and appointed business manager in 1985 until his retirement in 2002. He was a welding instructor for the Great Falls apprentice program from 1985-1997. He served on many trades councils and committees over his career. He was also appointed as a Labor Delegate by Governor Marc Racicot to the School to Work Advisory Board in 1994 to represent Labor.Ron married Lila Ish in August of 1963, and later divorced. He then married Barbara Fisher on October 9, 1982. They were happily married until her death in January of 2011. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He coached Westside Little League Baseball for several years. He was known for his quick wit, humor, and breaking out his special dance moves. He loved watching western movies and thought of himself as a man of the old west.He is survived by his daughters, Jodine (Flip) Zeren of Great Falls, and Roxan (Tim) Senger of Helena; a son Derik (April) Senger of Great Falls; grandchildren Shawn and Jill Zeren, Shelby, Dustin, Danielle, Brittona, Riley, and Mikyla Senger; sisters Bev (Tim) Sachsenmaier of Camanche IA, Patricia (Bill) Brennan, and Mary Jane (Terry) Lins both of Great Falls.
