Ronald "Ronnie" Gudmundsen

July 9, 1961 — July 9, 2017

Ronald Ronnie Gene Gudmundsen passed away in his home on his 56th birthday, July 9th, 2017.In Denver, Colorado, Ron was the first born child to Judith A. Borchert and Guy L. Gudmundsen on July 9th, 1961. When Ron was 5, his family moved to Great Falls, where he grew up and spent the entirety of his life.On July 12th, a small service was held for Ron at Schnider Funeral Home for his family and friends.Ron loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking, or camping; he loved it all, and always had a camera with him. Ron was a complete fanatic of music, cars, movies, and video games. He was a collector of them all. He was a perfectionist, a completionist, and marveled in mastering his talents. He enjoyed art in any form, himself an artist who had a high capacity for traditional art.Ron will forever be remembered for his quick wit, his intelligence, ingenuity, sense of humor, empathy, creativity, and most of all, his generosity. He loved his grandchildren, and did everything he could to help care for them; he loved babysitting and mentoring them as they got older. He loved any moment he got to help or create something from scratch; whether it be a fully functioning, high detail, miniature guillotine made entirely of State Fair corndog sticks for his daughter's high school report, or a homemade wooden go-kart for his sons. He always had a simple solution for any problem he faced. His inspiring creativity and inventiveness will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.Ron is survived by his daughters Amy and Roni; sons Cody and Ryan; brothers Guy and Gary; sisters Valerie and Gay; and his 5 grandchildren.
