Ronald Ron John Sado went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2015.A funeral liturgy will be on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Ron was born in Helena, Montana to Michael and Genevieve Sado on May 19, 1935. He was the second oldest of four children which included his three sisters, Ann, Patty and Jeaneen. He attended grade school and high school in Helena, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1953. Ron was an altar boy at the cathedral in Helena, and participated in a number of sports while in school which included baseball and basketball. During high school, he worked for Gamers Bakery. Upon graduating, he attended Carroll College where he got his bachelors degree in business, graduating in 1957. Right after college, he went to work for the Internal Revenue Service where he served as a tax auditor until his retirement after 40 years of service.Ron married Geri Flynn from Brooklyn, New York in Helena on January 21, 1961 and moved to Great Falls in 1962. Together they had three girls, Marie, Jackie and Paulette. Ron and Geri divorced in 1975.Ron was remarried on June 3, 1977 to Eva Mason. They shared life together for 28 years until her passing on November 22, 2005. Ron is the grandfather of 20 grandkids and 23 great grandkids. Needless to say, the family could fill a small banquet room.Ron enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and softball, along with watching his Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees. He was a member of the Elks Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.Ron leaves a legacy for his family of being a wonderful example of the benefit of hard work and dedication, a love of family and a great faith in God.Although his last three years were harder, he always had a smile and tried to keep a good attitude about life. His greatest joy came from spending time with the family and the treat of a scoop of ice cream. It was said he loved ice cream even more than beer, and we all know Ron enjoyed a nice cold beer.The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Legan and staff along with all the kind assisted living staff who have taken care of him all these years.Ron is survived by his three sisters, Ann Fay and Patty (Pat) Coyle of Missoula, and Jeaneen (Bob) Murphey of Lewiston, ID; four daughters, Marie (Vic) Hirsch, Paulette (Mike) Duryee, and Rennae (Mark) Johnson of Great Falls and Jackie (Carl Knop) Kain of Big Sandy; along with lots of nieces, nephews and good friends.He once asked how he had ended up with such wonderful family and friends to which was said that it was a result of him being a wonderful part of our family and good friend to others.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva Sado; ex-wife, Geri Flynn Sado; grandson Justin Tiller; and brother-in-law John Fay.Until we meet again, Ron/Dad, we will say goodbye for now.
