Roger Pearson was born on June 3, 1953, in Hazen, ND but grew up in Stanton, ND. He was born disabled with polio and the doctors said he would not live long. He fooled them all. He lived until he was 70 years old.
Roger attended Easter Seals School in the 60s until he turned 16 years old. He worked on his own smashing donated cans, pulling tabs off of the cans, and donating them for local cancer patients. He stripped copper wire off small motors and used his money at the fair and for summer activities. He also beaded necklaces and bracelets.
Roger loved fishing, food (his favorite was Spaghettios), visiting, and music. He loved family gatherings. He loved his hugs, which he returned with a big smile (he got plenty, too).
Roger is survived by his brother, Frank Pearson; sisters, Delilah Barnes, Helen Salcido, and Emily Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Oscar Pearson; brothers, Kenney Pearson, Allen Pearson, and infant brother, Maynard; sisters, Anna Swan, Lola Conant, Minnie Pearson, Doris Pearson, and infant sister, Budine.
