Robert Leroy Milne

Robert LeRoy “Roy” Milne died Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Peace Hospice located in Great Falls, Montana surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born in San Francisco, California to James and Norah (McHugh) Milne. He attended school at Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco and then joined the United States Marine Corps. He was based in Twentynine Palms, California where he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis A. Cullum, on January 10, 1959. They remained happily married until she passed away on January 30, 2006. Roy belonged to and retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 38 in San Francisco. After his retirement in 2008, Roy became an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Breckenridge, Texas. He was a lector with the church and taught First Communion classes for several years. Roy is survived by his three children and their families, Kathleen (Scott) Smartt of Great Falls, Montana, Kelly (Richard) Hatcher of San Mateo, California, and K. Sean (Elizabeth) Milne of Pleasanton, California; grandchildren, Aubrey, Ryan, Lindsey, Wyatt, and Jennifer; and four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Connor, McKenna, and Ryker. Roy was also expecting two additional great-grandchildren due in 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial gifts to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Roy’s final resting place will be with Phyllis at Cypress Lawn in Colma, California.
