Robert Leonard DeLuca Sr., 85, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at 1:00 p.m. both at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Entombment at Hillcrest Mausoleum will immediately follow the service. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Robert was born on September 24, 1929 to Mark and Anna (Vincenzes) DeLuca in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania. He joined the Air Force on September 10, 1947, serving in the Korean War before he was honorably discharged on September 10, 1951. He went to work for the Anaconda Mining Company and Northern Railroad before working for the US Postal Service where he retired.He married Barbara Outcalt on February 28, 1949 in Great Falls.Robert was president of the Montana, American Postal Workers, as well as Great Falls Local American Postal Workers Union, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and belonged to the Lamplighters. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing.He is survived by his children, Robert DeLuca Jr. of Waldorf, MD and Gary DeLuca of Great Falls; sister Rita Kimball of Toledo, OH; brother Thomas DeLuca of North Bellmore, NY; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.Robert was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; brother Vincent DeLuca; sister Rose Ferranti; son Michael DeLuca; and grandson Jason DeLuca.
