Robert Kay Fischer, 91, retired US Air Force Technical Sergeant and retired US Civil Service, died of natural causes on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls. He was entombed at Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum next to his wife Maryann Fischer, who preceded him in death, in a private ceremony. A memorial service will be on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with military honors at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Survivors include his son Douglas and daughter-in-law Becky Fischer of Avondale, Arizona; and three grandchildren Zachary Fischer of La Habra, California; Sarah Fischer of Phoenix, Arizona and Joshua Fischer of Avondale, Arizona. Robert was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on July 24, 1927 to Arthur and Mabel Fischer. He is the oldest of three brothers and a sister. In July 1945, he entered the US Army Air Corp and later the US Air Force. He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan (twice); Charleston, South Carolina; and Athens, Greece. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1966 he moved to Great Falls, with his family. After moving to Great Falls, he continued working for US Civil Service and retired in the 1990's. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing.
