Robert "Bob" Harvey

Robert Bob L. Harvey, 77, of Monarch and formerly of Geraldine, a farmer, died of natural causes on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at a local care facility.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 610 2nd Ave N, Great Falls, MT.A private burial will take place at a later date. Bob and his family request casual dress attire.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Bob was born on January 18, 1936 to George and Helen (Kauffmann) Harvey in Geraldine. He graduated from Geraldine High School and received his Associates Degree in Welding and Mechanics from Northern Montana College in Havre. He married CoraLee Faller on March 8, 1958 in Great Falls, and they lived in Fort Benton where they had three children. He was a mechanic until they moved to the family farm in Geraldine in 1966. Always a horseman, from ponies to bronc riding, (which CoraLee made him give up) to draft horses, he loved all animals, including his childrens and grandchildrens pets. Bob was a member of the Chouteau County Sheriffs Posse and was elected President of the Montana State Sheriffs Posse Association in 1968. In 1972 he was a founding member of the Chouteau County Trailblazers and he participated with his team and wagon for 25 years. After his years with the wagon train, he still enjoyed taking the locals on many sleigh rides and brides and grooms to their reception in his Surrey with the Fringe on Top.Although Montana was his only home, Bob and CoraLee enjoyed traveling with friends and family from England to Hawaii.In 1998 they purchased a home in Monarch and they retired there in 2000. Their home was always fulled with friends and family for any occasion which always put a smile on his face.Bob is survived by his wife, CoraLee Harvey of Monarch; daughters Linda (Tom) Campbell of Kalispell and Brenda (John) Siebrandt of Geraldine; son Rob Harvey of Monarch; sister Dorothy (Jim) Clark of Fort Benton; brother Chuck (Vicki) Harvey of Townsend; grandchildren, Dan (Danielle) Engellant, Leslie Engellant, Jeremiah Moog and Jack Gordon; brother-in-law Ken (Jacki) Faller; sister-in-law Deb Clarke; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Harvey; and his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Lucille Faller.The family requests that memorials in lieu of flowers be made to the United Methodist Church in Monarch, MT 59463.
