Robert Bob Marion Anderson, 86, of Fort Benton, died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Benefis Hospital of natural causes.A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Bob was born on June 20, 1927 in Fort Benton to Noel and Agnes Anderson. He was a graduate of Fort Benton High School. He went to college at MSU Bozeman and earned a degree in Engineering. He entered the Army out of college and served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division.He married Katherine Wickham on February 21, 1950 in Clarksville, Tennessee.Bob was a member of the rural school board; a 4-H leader; past state president of the Montana Conservation District; a Montana State Legislator in 1971; as well as a Mason, Scottish Rite member, and Shriner.He liked all sports indoor and out. His greatest pleasure came from watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports.Bob loved farming and ranching. He strove to keep up with the ever changing advances in both industries. Black Angus cattle were his passion.He is survived by his wife Katherine Kitty of 64 years; his children Rick (Laurie) Anderson and Kerry (Bill) Conrad; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Emogene; and brother Evon.Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes; father Noel Sr.; and brother Noel Jr.Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
